CRAFTING THE WHEEL OF THE YEAR AT THE YULE SEASON
Join Deb and Claire as we discuss the second spoke in the Wheel of the Year – Winter Solstice, or Yule.
The course will be held over Zoom, 8-9.30pm GMT, 6th Dec 2025.
Winter Solstice occurs in the Northern Hemisphere when the sun crosses the Tropic of Capricorn, sometime between December 20 and 22. On this longest night of the year, we honor the gifts the dark time of the year give us, and rejoice in the light that grows daily beginning on the morrow. Yule is a time of celebrating hearth and home, of making merry, and of sharing the bounty of our lives. The Wheel of the Year is an ever-spinning progression of eight primary holy days in the calendar, four of which are Solar holidays and honor the solstices and spring and autumn equinox. The other four holidays are referred to as Cross-quarter days, and spin on the wheel alternately between the solstice and equinox days.
In this course you’ll learn:
What Yule means to us today
The historical and cultural significance of Yule
Symbols, lore, and legends of the holiday and how they came to be
How the holiday shares symbols and beliefs with many other world cultures and belief systems
The significance of those symbols and what they mean today.
Ways to create Yule rituals and altars and work with crystals and oils of the season
How to create Christmas Sigils and Pocket Charms for Yuletide gifts!
